RTA Newest Member of the Catalunya Convention Bureau

The Catalunya Convention Bureau (CCB) is a program created by the Catalan Tourist Board in year 2010 to situate Catalonia as a leading destination in the tourism sector for meetings, conferences, conventions and incentive trips.

Moreover, the Catalunya Convention Bureau has produced a publication to identify the destinations that are best equipped to ensure the necessary capacity and services to organize congresses. Up to now 9 destinations have been identified: Lleida, Reus, PortAventura, Tarragona, Sitges, Castelldefels, Barcelona, Lloret de Mar and Girona.

The CCB is the Catalan Tourist Board’s intermediary with companies providing equipment, products, venues and services for activities related to business tourism, and with the organizers of these meetings.

To this end, the CCB seeks relations with the Catalan tourism sector, acts to attract conferences, conventions and company incentive trips, supports event organizers and tries to generate business for the region of Catalunya.

Currently, the CCB runs two projects, Catalonia Congresses and Catalonia Incentives, for classifying and segmenting according to the types of offers available.

Moreover, and to further aid the attraction of congresses, the Catalunya Convention Bureau has established the ambassador program, under which the leading opinion makers and professionals are identified with a view to creating new business opportunities and generating greater knowledge about our country.

RTA is the newest Member of the Catalunya Convention Bureau since January 2014 and we support their philosophy and strategy to promote the area within their sales actions. We hope and trust that this will be a fruitful collaboration.
