CIRCUIT LUXURY RIAS BAIXAS

 

Day 1: AIRPORT – TRAIN STATION – RIAS BAIXAS

Pick up at the airport, RENFE station or bus station of Santiago Compostela – Vigo – Coruña and Oporto at the appointed time and departure to RIAS BAIXAS, accommodation and dinner.

Day 2: CORUÑA – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Morning: Coruña, a city of great charm that is located on a peninsula with two bays: At one bay the port is located and on the other one the beaches of Orzan and Riazor. Other highlights of the city are the Plaza de María Pita, the City Hall, the Tower of Hércules, etc.
Afternoon: Santiago de Compostela, Universal City that was declared to be a World Heritage Site in1985. The facade of the Cathedral’s Obradoiro overlooks the square which it gives its name to. It is the place where stonemasons worked between 1738 and 1750. The heart of the cathedral is the grave of the apostle Santiago which is located in the crypt beneath the High Altar, which keeps the remains of Santiago. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: NORTH OF PORTUGAL – STA TECLA – BAIONA / LA TOJA – LA LANZADA – MOUNT SIRADELLA – WALKWAY LA PEDRAS NEGRAS.

In the morning, Valença do Minho in Portugal, free time to do some shopping inside the fortress. The journey will continue to La Guardia, which is the lobster capital. Afterwards, walk up to Mount Sta.Tecla to enjoy views over the mouth of the River Minho and a former Castro (Celtic settlement). Then heading towards Baiona, which was the first port receiving the news of the discovery of America, on its shores the Carabela Pinta docked in the year 1493.
Afternoon, tour to La Toja Island and visit of the soap factory, the casino, the Grand hotel and the house of shells. Lanzada Beach, chapel and cemetery. «Siradella hill» which descries the isthmus linking the land released peninsula Grove with the Concello de Sanxenxo. At the end of the tour, walk on the wooden walkway that runs along the rocks in the sea «Pedras Negras». Return for dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: FREE TIME / WINE-TASTING

Free time to go shopping and exploring the city while experiencing the life at the fishing port where fish auctions at the public exchange places can be enjoyed. Lunch at the hotel. Later, wine-tasting. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5:  PONTEVEDRA – COMBARRO / CAMBADOS – VALLEY OF SALNES – SANXENXO

Morning:  Pontevedra surprises with its rich monumental town, the church of the Pilgrim, the ruins of the Convento de Sto. Domingo, the Basilica of Sta. María la Mayor or the Plaza de la Herrería and the Church of San Francisco. Later, heading towards the town of Combarro, declared as a Historic Artistic Complex for its typical and colorful architecture with more than 30 granaries in front of the sea. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon: excursion to the region of O Salnés, Illa de Arousa, Ruta da Pedra and Auga and Cambados, un village with great architectures and the wine capital of Albariño. The tour will end in «Sanxenxo», the touristy capital of Galicia. Accommodation and dinner.

Day 6: CRUISE TROUGH THE WATER BREAK OF AROUSA (OPTIONAL)/ SPA – MASSAGE

Catamaran tour trough the water break of Arousa to get to know «Bateas» which are floating platforms where mussels, oysters and scallops are grown as well as tasting of mussels and wine (tickets on behalf of the clients). Lunch.
Afternoon: relaxing day, spa circuit and massage.

Day 7: RETURN / OPTIONAL EXCURSION: CIES ISLANDS (summer season) OR RIBEIRA SACRA (all year)

Pick up at hotel and departure in the direction of the airport, train station or bus station (Santiago Compostela – Vigo – Coruña and Oporto) at the appointed time. Day to spend individually or make an optional excursion to the Cies Islands with a picnic, the Cies Islands are the wonders of the Atlantic Islands National Park. An alternative is to make a trip to Ribeira Sacra. Dinner and accommodation (only for the 8 day option).

Day 8: RETURN DAY

Pick up from the hotel and departure to the airport, RENFE station or Bus station of Santiago Compostela – Vigo – Coruña and Oporto.

CIRCUIT MEDIOEVAL GALICIA

Day 1: AIRPORT – TRAIN STATION – RIAS BAIXAS

Pick up at the airport, RENFE station or Stantiago Compostela bus station – Vigo – Coruña and Oporto at the agreed time and departure to Rías Baixas, accommodation and dinner.

Day 2: TO CORUÑA – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Day 4: RUTA PEDRA E AUGA – MONASTERY ARMENTEIRA – MOUNT LOBEIRA/PAZO RUBIANS – NATIONAL PARC RIA BAROSA

In the morning, short walk along the «Ruta da Pedra e Auga» following the course of the river and walking to the watermills, «Monastery Armenteira» (entry charge included). The trip will continue with a visit of the “lookout of Mount Lobeira», a medieval fortress of which some parts of the walls are still remaining and where the water break of the Pontevedra and Arousa can be seen from. Lunch at the hotel.
Afternoon: Visit of the «Pazo de Rubians» (entry charge included) which is awarded internationally for its camellias, a place where the opportunity to taste different wines in a wine cellar is given. The journey will continue to the «Natural Park Ria Barosa» to enjoy the landscape, mills and the waterfall.

Day 6: COMBARRO – MONASTERY OF POIO – CASTLE OF SOUTOMAIOR – PAZO LOURIZÁN/LA TOJA – LA LANZADA SIRADELLA – WALKWAY PASARELA PEDRAS NEGRAS

In the morning, visit of “Combarro«, a typical fishing village with cobbled streets and delighted granaries. The trip will continue with the visit of «Poio Monastery» and the largest granary in appearance of Galicia. Afterwards, visit of the Castle of Soutomaior (entry charge included). Later, the journey will continue with a visit of Pontevedra to get to know the «Pazo de Lourizán» (entry charge included) and its botanical garden, cave and fairy ponds. Return to hotel for lunch.
