RTA Group, destination management company in Spain was there to experience this distinctive transport and the beautiful spanish village of Mijas. Here is an insight:
More than 50 travel agents and tour operators were invited to a “Donkey Safari” through the village. It was a familiarization trip (fam trip) hosted by the tourist office in Mijas on Saturday, the 9th of May.
After a short presentation of the tourism office council, the group started the tour with a visit of the museum “CAC de Mijas”. It has exhibited impressive pieces of art of Picasso, Dalí, Georges Braque, Tsugouharu Foujita and many other important artists.
After this little art experience the “Donkey safari” started, a pleasant and interesting way to explore the traditional white village. Of course plenty of selfies were taken to capture the moment on the distinctive transport.
The Lunch-Buffet was served in two authentic restaurants, including – amongst other dishes – various tapas, fried fish and montaditos. Of course Sangria, Wine and Softdrinks did not miss.
Before heading back we enjoyed some free time to have a walk on our own through the little paths and white houses adorned with flowers and to enjoy the picturesque view from Mijas viewing points.
All in all the Fam Trip was a beautiful trip on a sunny day and an opportunity to experience the andalusian village Mijas and its “burro taxis” firsthand.
